Blazer and pins

Today I'll talk a bit about my pins and the blazer! I took a bit to post this due to some "indecisions" I had, but now everything is solved! I made two types of pins:

The first is Brazil's geographic shape with the flag colours crossing it, and with "BRAZIL" written in the sides.

The second is just a Brazilian flag with my name, home and host districts written below.

The Rotary Exchange blazer is kind of a symbol of your exchange, because it is where we put the pins we trade with our fellow exchange students before, during and maybe after the exchange, so when it's done, it gets full and heavy! Mine has few pins yet, and also my home district badge, the Danish flag in the left sleeve and the Brazilian flag along with my state flag in the right sleeve.

From today I'll just have to wait one week more until I leave for Denmark! I can't believe it straight and I have lots of stuff to do, but everything will turn out fine!

Blazer e pins

Hoje eu vou falar um pouco sobre meus pins e o blazer! Demorei um pouco pra postar isso devido à uma indecisão minha mas agora está tudo certo! Fiz dois tipos de pins:

O primeiro é um contorno do Brazil com as cores da bandeira a atravessando, e escrito "BRASIL" em cada um dos lados.

O segundo é mais simples; uma bandeira do Brasil com meu nome, distrito brasileiro e o hospedeiro lá na Dinamarca.

O blazer do intercâmbio do Rotary é meio que uma memória concreta da viagem, porque é lá onde a gente coloca os pins que nós conseguimos ao trocar com os outros intercambistas, então ele volta cheio de pins e bem pesado! Ainda não tenho muitos pins, e além deles, há o emblema do meu distrito do lado esquerdo, a bandeira da Dinamarca na manga esquerda e as bandeiras do Brasil e de São Paulo na manga direita, que eu comprei pela internet e apliquei com o ferro:

Hoje falta uma semana para a viagem!! Nem acredito nisso e tenho muito ainda pra fazer, mas tudo dará certo!

For my English readers

Hello! So, a lot of my (small number of) readers aren't Portuguese speakers, and from the start I wrote in English on the bottom of the posts, but I never liked this way very much and I guess I'm not the only one!

Nevertheless, you may see now a link called "English version"; there you'll find all my posts in English, with images and way more organised than before! I hope you enjoy the changes :)

The school

Here I'm going to present to you my school in Denmark!

It's called Rosborg Gymnasium og HF, located in Vejle:

 

It is a huge school to our standards, having almost 1400 students just in high school! There are three grades, and the first two have about 15 classes each, and the 3rd has around 5. They are set up based on the subjects the students choose to take, like languages, sociology, PE...

2014/15 graduation

My grade, like the other exchange students, will be the second; one detail about this grade is that they have a school trip around March to some country in Europe, and I hope (a lot) that I can go! Speaking on the others, I'll study with around 6 other exchange students, and, among them, a Canadian girl from Ontario and an American girl from the Seattle area!

A escola

Vou apresentar para vocês minha escola lá na Dinamarca!

Ela se chama Rosborg Gymnasium og HF, e fica em Vejle:

É uma escola enorme pros padrões brasileiros: tem quase 1400 alunos, só do ensino médio! São três séries (1ª, 2ª e 3ª, como no Brasil). As duas primeiras têm mais ou menos 15 salas cada um, e a terceira tem umas 5 ou 6. Elas são montadas baseando-se nas matérias que o estudante escolhe, como por exemplo: línguas, sociologia, educação física...

Formatura de 2015

Minha série, assim como a dos outros intercambiários em Rosborg, será a 2ª; um detalhe dessa série é que eles têm uma viagem em meados de março para algum país da Europa, e que eu espero (e muito) ir! Falando nos outros, vou estudar com mais uns 6 intercambiários, sendo os que eu conheço uma canadense de Ontário e uma americana do estado de Washington!

Host families

My first host family lives about 15 minutes from downtown Give, in a farm! They are a couple with 5 children, but two of them live in the house, the other three live in other cities due to university or work. Oh, and did I mention that it is a pig farm? I can already see myself helping them with it hahah

I still don't have a second family, and maybe I won't have one because my counsellor didn't get to make the family stay with me in that period, or how he calls it, a Rotary internal problem.... But it doesn't matter!

Speaking about my counsellor... He and his family are going to be my third host family and also where I'm staying in August, after I arrive, due to a lot of stuff I have to do in order to have my residency card! They live in a village called Givskud, 10 minutes from Give. They have three children, and one of them did her exchange here in Brazil, up north in João Pessoa! Guess I'll have someone to speak in Portuguese there :D

So, a lot of stuff is bound to happen still, and I'll try to tell them here!!

Famílias

Minha primeira família vive a uns 15 minutos do centro de Give, numa fazenda! Ela consiste de um casal e eles têm 5 filhos (!!), mas dois deles moram com eles, os outros moram em outros lugares por estarem fazendo universidade ou trabalhando. Ah, e esqueci de mencionar: eles criam porcos na fazenda!! Já me vejo ajudando eles com isso kkkkk

Ainda não tenho uma segunda família, e talvez nem tenha pois meu conselheiro não conseguiu fazer com que a família que deveria ser a segunda ficasse comigo nesse período, ou como ele chama, problema interno do Rotary... Mas não tem problema!

Falando no meu conselheiro, ele e sua família serão minha terceira família e também onde ficarei durante o mês de agosto, logo depois da minha chegada, devido à toda burocracia que terei que passar nos meus primeiros dias lá! Eles moram num vilarejo chamado Givskud, a 10 minutos do centro de Give. Eles têm três filhos, e uma das filhas fez intercâmbio aqui no Brasil, lá em João Pessoa! Terei alguém para falar português comigo quando a saudade apertar :D

Enfim, ainda há muitas coisas por vir, e tentarei contá-las aqui!

District and city

Hi! In this post I'll speak a little about the places I am going to study and live in Denmark!
My host district is 1450, which is located in Denmark's Central Region, including the 2nd largest city, Aarhus, and Esbjerg, the 5th largest. My city is called Give, a little town of about 4.500 inhabitants located in the Vejle municipality, and Vejle, its seat, is where I'm going to study.

Honestly, I'm not sure of what to expect of my year living in those two cities, because it'll be a very different life from what I'm used to! Catching the bus to school, having four seasons, living next to the sea...

Distrito e cidade

Oi! Nesse post falarei um pouco sobre os lugares onde vou morar e estudar lá na Dinamarca!
Meu distrito anfitrião é o 1450, que compreende toda a região central da Dinamarca, incluindo a segunda maior cidade, Aarhus, e a quinta maior, Esbjerg. Minha cidade se chama Give, uma pequena cidade de 4500 habitantes localizada no condado de Vejle, que é a cidade onde vou estudar.

Sinceramente, eu não sei o que esperar do meu ano vivendo nessas duas cidades, porque será uma vida muito diferente da que eu estou acostumado aqui!! Pegar ônibus pra escola, ter as quatro estações, viver perto do mar...

First post

Hi everyone!

So, this is my first post in here, so I’d like to use it to introduce the idea of this blog.
I’ll be a Rotary Exchange Student in 2015/16, and I’m bound to DENMARK! From today it’s 25 days for my departure! Very close, so I decided to start this blog to get myself busy in the meantime and to share the Exchange experiences as they happen… I do not intend to post a lot, but for now I’ll focus on what happens before the big day, like my host country, the pins, etc… Thank you for reading this so far, and I hope you’ll like what I’m going to write in here!

Primeiro post

Oi pessoal!

Bem, esse é meu primeiro post aqui, então gostaria de usá-lo pra descrever um pouco a ideia do blog...

Vou fazer parte do Intercâmbio de Jovens do Rotary 2015-16, e vou para a DINAMARCA! Hoje faltam 25 dias para a minha partida! Muito perto, então eu decidi começar esse blog para me ocupar nesse meio tempo e também para compartilhar as experiências do meu intercâmbio conforme ele ocorre! Não pretendo atualizá-lo muito frequentemente, mas por hora focarei no que ocorre antes da partida, como o meu país anfitrião, os pins, entre outras coisas! Enfim, obrigado por ler esse textinho, e espero que gostem do conteúdo que colocarei!
